About the Bike Ride

The 2011 Face It Together ride has two main goals:

  1. Raise awareness about depression in men. Our goal is to spread the word that depression in men is a real problem, and that there’s help and hope for those battling depression. We’re riding as a group as a reminder to men suffering from depression that they’re not alone. When you’re dealing with depression, friends, family and professionals are ready to help.
  2. Encourage conversations about depression. Often individuals with depression along with their families, friends, and loved ones feel  isolated in their battle.  We need to foster discussion within families, places of worship, the workplace, and our communities about what depression really is, how to combat it, how to prevent it, and how to help those who are suffering with it. We need people to not feel alone in this fight and we need to equip those who want to help with the tools they need to be supportive and effective.
